Differences between the 2017 Mazda3 Touring and Touring 2.5
There is one major difference that separates the 2017 Mazda3 Touring and the Mazda3 Touring 2.5 and that is what engine you’ll find under the hood. The 2017 Mazda3 comes standard with a SKYACTIV-G 2.0L I-4 engine with 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with the six-speed automatic transmission in the Mazda3 and has a sport mode. The 5-door Mazda3 Touring has a 37 MPG highway efficiency rating.
The Mazda3 2.5 is named how it is because the base engine gets swapped out for a SKYACTIV-G 2.5L I-4 engine with 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. The Touring 2.5 also comes standard with a manual transmission for those who want to take advantage of this sporty little car. Though, if you prefer the convenience of an automatic transmission, then you can also opt for that. The 2017 Mazda3 hatchback with the 2.5L I-4 engine will get you around 33 MPG on the highway.
